Sister Margaret at Vital Link Private School
Sister Margaret Murray Muhammad and her husband with the graduating class of students at Vital Link Private School. Sister Margaret co-founded this private school to focus on the leadership of African American children in the community. Vital Link Private School was founded at the corner of Tarboro Road and Lenoir Street in Southeast Raleigh. Here, generations of childrens learned and were taught awareness of black history and excellence—in terms of sports, entertainment, politics, religion, and education. A second campus is also located on Royal Street in the historically black Method community.

This picture depicts Sister Margaret and Dr. Moses after a brotherhood dinner. These dinners were “special dinners” that were hosted by the Chanchellor’s office to celebrate the diversity on campus. Here, those invited were asked to relate with each other and commune with each other in a brotherly and sisterly kind of way. These events are a mean of establishing better community relationships with the African American community as well as other diverse communities.
